
So, hats off to @PoppyD for the most succinct dismissal of the Facebook purchase of Instagram that I’ve yet seen. That would certainly include several PRs I know…. But can anyone explain how Facebook is trying to justify this? $1bn? I mean, brand awareness is one thing, and they can do what they want with their money, but, really, what makes them prepared to throw what is, even for Facebook, such a frankly obscene amount of money at a service with fairly limited applications?
